Ensemble NAYA is a collection of outstanding musicians with multi-cultural backgrounds, who together share a passion for performing and exploring Western classical music and the music of other cultures.The group was established as a result of an exciting and successful musical relationship formed at Gothenburg Opera in Sweden, in 2008. Ensemble NAYA have recently recorded their first album and are gaining recognition and a rapidly growing reputation, with invitations to perform at international venues such as the Wigmore Hall, Halle Handel Festival, Chateau de Versailles, Israel Festival, Lucerne Festival, Stockholm early music Festival, Flemish Opera, and Concertgebouw Brugge. Further plans include a live radio broadcast from the Henry Crown Hall, Jerusalem and programmes on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM UK. Ensemble NAYA is already forging exciting collaborations with some of today’s leading early music specialists, including Laurence Cummings, Emanuel Heim, Werner Erhardt, Iain Burnside, Graham Johnson and many others.Their debut project is a programme of music inspired by ancient and modern Jewish texts, both sacred and secular from around the world.
