Cuerdas: The Sounds in Silay History
at the Silay City Puericulture Center

A community exhibition that explores the sounds and musical forms that characterized the culture of Silay, Negros Occidental, as a way to understand the nuances of history, society, and spirit of a place. Through the lens of a “soundscape,” the exhibit hopes to offer reflection on the human condition affected by societal forces, and how the creation of music and its circulation in contemporary Silay life is a result of the creative spirit and the winds of history
